How much does a bespoke commercial fire door cost?
A made-to-measure FD30 door, fitted, usually costs £900–£1,800, before VAT. FD60 doors cost around £1,200–£2,400. Size, glass and finish make the biggest difference to the price. You get a fixed price from the agreed spec, covering making, fitting and records. Larger orders can bring the price per door down.
Can fire doors be made to any size?
Within limits. Each door must stay within the sizes covered by its test evidence. Most tall, wide and double doors are possible. We check your openings against the evidence before quoting. If an opening is too large, we can suggest side panels or a different layout that stays within the evidence.
Can bespoke fire doors have lots of glass?
Yes, within the limits of the test evidence. Full-height vision panels and side lights are common. The glass must be fire rated and fitted with the right beads and seals. More glass means more light, but it can raise the price, so we help you find the right balance.
Can you match our fit-out finishes?
Yes. We work from your design samples to match veneers, laminates and paint colours. Natural wood can vary, so we agree samples before making. Paint and laminate can be matched very closely to your colour references. Hardware such as handles and kick plates can also be chosen to suit the design.
Can access control be fitted to bespoke doors?
Yes. We prepare doors in the factory for readers, locks and cable routes. This keeps the fire rating intact, unlike cutting holes on site. Your security contractor then fits and links the readers on site. We test each door with the alarm before handover.
How long do bespoke commercial doors take?
Usually several weeks from spec sign-off, depending on size and finish. We agree a date that fits your fit-out programme, so doors arrive in time. Ordering early is the best way to avoid delays. We can measure openings as soon as the walls are built, so making can start sooner.
Are bespoke doors certified?
Yes. Each doorset is made by a certified maker, labelled and backed by test evidence. You get the details for your O&M file. Fitting by our own team keeps that certification valid, because the door is installed as it was tested. The label stays on the door for future inspections.
Can you work with our architect?
Yes. We review drawings, suggest changes where the test evidence needs them and agree the spec with your design team. Getting us involved early helps avoid redesigns later, as we can spot issues with sizes or glass before drawings are fixed. We can also attend design meetings if needed.
Do you supply and fit, or supply only?
We supply and fit. Fitting by our own team means the door is installed as tested, which keeps the certification valid. It also means one team is responsible for the door from start to finish. If anything needs adjusting after handover, you only need to call us.
What records do we get?
You get the agreed spec, label details, photos and fitting records. These go into your O&M file and fire safety records. The records also make future inspections easier, as the inspector can see what each door is straight away. They can be supplied in the format your O&M manual needs.
